What is the RDC-i700?
Answer:
The RDC-i700 is a mobile Image Capturing Device that lets you capture and manage images, browse the Internet, and send and receive images and e-mail.

Are the camera features of the RDC-i700 and the RDC-7 different?
Answer:
Both models are similar in this respect, except that the RDC-i700:
- Has no PRO mode
- Has two card slots and supports storage on Compact Flash and PC (ATA) card. A PC card adapter lets you use SmartMedia cards.
- You can adjust the contrast of images taken in Text mode

What communications functions do the RDC-i700 support?
Answer:
- E-mailing images
You can send and receive e-mail messages and attached images.
- Direct transfers
You can upload files directly to a modem-connected PC.
* To receive images on your PC, you need to install the dial-up server software included in the package.
- Fax transmission
You can fax images in Text mode.
- Web browsing
The RDC-i700 lets you browse web pages.
- HTML file uploading
You can upload HTML-formatted or original images to the web.

Answer:
You can use your PC's web browser to access your camera's home page and:
- View and save images
- Take pictures with remote camera controls on your PC
- Easily set up the camera

What else can I do with the RDC-i700 besides taking pictures and using its communication features?
Answer:
The RDC-i700 offers the following software-based functions:
- Image retouching and annotation
You can crop pictures and use the included stylus pen to input text or handwrite memos. You can even add voice memos.
- JOB Navi. functions
Image Capture Guide List, autogeneration of HTML files, and presentation tools.
- On-screen keypad
Input alphanumeric characters (English, German, French).

Can you view images created on other Ricoh digital cameras?
Answer:
Yes, except for images created on the RDC-1 and RDC-2, which are in the J6I format.

How long can the RDC-i700 operates per battery charge?
Answer:
With the LCD monitor on, you can take about 120 images. You can play back images for about 60 seconds or transmit using modem cards for about 60 seconds. The kit includes two rechargeable batteries.

How big is the on-board memory?
Answer:
The on-board memory is 8 MB, of which 2 MB is exclusively for mail applications. You can store images on the remaining 6 MB. You can adjust the memory allocations for e-mail and images.
