Using Guide List with Excel and Word

1.Using the Image Capture Guide List

When Windows is used, Guide Lists can easily be created by using Image Capture
Guide List Tool Kit with Microsoft Excel or Word.
Recorded images can be pasted into tables and documents.
For the actual method of operation, please refer to "Chapter 5 Using JOB Navi.
Image Capture Guide List " in "Connecting to a Personal Computer operation
manual."

To ensure efficient use of Guide List , the following explains how to create
original tables and documents.

2. Creating original tables and documents

When Image Capture Guide List Tool Kit is installed, Excel or Word template
folders will be created in the My Document folder.
This folder contains a variety of template files (tables and documents)
which include macros that can be used to create Guide Lists and paste images.

Original tables and documents can be created by opening any of the template
files, deleting unnecessary portions and adding any necessary data.
These can then be saved as separate files by using "Save As ..."
from the File menu. This is the simplest method.
To save a document, use Template (.xlt extension) with Excel
and Template (.dot extension) with Word.
In the case of Word, macros in the original Template file will be referenced
with this method. Because of this, the macros may not be usable
when a document file is transferred to another personal computer
because the macros are not added to the Template file when Word is used.
With Word, Template file macros can be copied and included in an original
document template by changing the "Tools" - "Templates Add-Ins" configuration.
Refer to Help in Excel or Word concerning the method used to include Template
file macros in original table and document templates.

About JOB Navi. Guide List files

1. Creating a Guide List file

Guide Lists can be created with just the camera, with a browser or with
an ordinary personal computer text editor such as Windows Notepad
or Macintosh Simple Text, etc.
When created with a text editor, Guide Lists can be used immediately
to take photos.
The following explains how to create Guide List files.

2. Creating a Guide List with a text editor

Photo list files are simple text files and have the format shown below.
(The frame is used for easier viewing.)

+--------------------------+
| [LIST TITLE] |
| title=[][][][][][][][] |
| [* * * * * * * * * * * *]|
| [* * * * * * * * * * * *]|
| [* * * * * * * * * * * *]|
| [* * * * * * * * * * * *]|
| [* * * * * * * * * * * *]|
| [* * * * * * * * * * * *]|
+--------------------------+

[][][][][][][][] .... is the Guide List title. Up to 16 characters can be used.
* * * * * * * * * * * *.... is the cut name. Up to 12 characters can be used.

To create a Guide List with the name "Showroom," containing 7 images named
Entrance, Reception, Overall, Photo 1, Photo 2, Photo 3 and Photo 4,
use the text editor to create the following files.

+-------------------------+
| [LIST TITLE] |
| title= Showroom |
| [Entrance] |
| [Reception] |
| [Overall] |
+-------------------------+

3. Transferring a Guide List to the camera

Save the text files to the disk of the personal computer. Always use
the extension".lst" for these files. For example, "hello.lst."
After that, use the RDC-i700 Explorer Plug-In (Windows) or the RDC-7/i700 Mounter
(Macintosh) to transfer the files to the Template folder in the camera's memory. The Guide List can now be used.

4. About completed Guide Lists

When a Guide List has been used to record photos, the following processing
will be performed in the selected camera's memory.

A new folder named "XXXRLIST" (XXX indicates a 3-digit number) will be created
in the DCIM folder in the memory and the image data will be saved in that
folder.
At the same time, the Guide List file used to record photos will be copied to
the XXXRLIST folder and the corresponding image and image titles will be
appended.
The Guide List files in the Template folder cannot be changed.

The image and image titles appended to the Completed Guide List file will be
changed to the following formats.

+-------------------------+
| [LIST TITLE] |
| title= Showroom |
| [Entrance] |
| RIMG0001.JPG | <- Image corresponding to the cut name Entrance.
| [Reception] |
| RIMG0002.JPG | <- Image 1 corresponding to the cut name Reception.
| RIMG0003.JPG | <- Image 2 corresponding to the cut name Reception.
| [Overall] |
| RIMG0004.JPG | <- Image corresponding to the cut name Overall.
| RIMG0005.JPG | <- Image corresponding to the cut name Photo 2
| [Photo 3] |
| RIMG0006.JPG | <- Image corresponding to the cut name Photo 3.
| RIMG0007.JPG | <- Image corresponding to the cut name Photo 4.
+-------------------------+

In the above examples, the image file name is not displayed below Photo 1.
This indicates the photo for Photo 1 has not been taken.
The correspondence between the image titles and image data can be changed
by transferring the completed Guide List file to a personal computer
and using a text editor, etc.
